WHY is an ergonomic office chair featuring an innovative, patented self-balancing mechanism.

The mechanism in the WHY chair has an exceptionally futuristic appearance. The mechanism’s design is based on utilizing the properties of a special material from which it is made, allowing the mechanism’s tilt tension to automatically adjust according to the user’s weight. 

It is the only office chair in our range with a backrest made entirely of plastic. Plastic backrests may seem hard and uncomfortable, but... everything lies in the details. The WHY backrest is specially contoured so that its rigidity becomes an advantage rather than a drawback for comfortable seating. It features clearly defined lumbar support, a profile that follows the natural curve of the spine, and slight flexibility. Additionally, the backrest height can be adjusted using a button integrated into the backrest. The combination of height adjustment and ergonomic profiling ensures that in most cases, a comfortable back position can be easily achieved.

The backrest is perforated with numerous openings, providing excellent breathability. Another major advantage is the absence of the so-called “shirt effect,” which often occurs in upholstered chairs. Because the backrest surface is relatively smooth, clothing slides naturally against it, preventing discomfort caused by fabric shifting against the back.

The seat of the WHY chair features a removable seat panel, allowing for upholstery replacement. The seat is integrated with the mechanism, includes a built-in seat depth adjustment, and is covered with integral foam.

The WHY chair is available with two types of armrests: 

• simple and cost-effective adjustable armrests with a soft pad,
  3D armrests with a soft pad - featuring height adjustment and pad rotation (operated via a button located on the armrest pad).

As standard, we offer our proven aluminum or nylon bases with a diameter of 700 mm.

The chair’s design can be further enhanced with EMI series castors, featuring a distinctive central “opening” that perfectly complements the design of the mechanism.

Another advantage of the WHY chair is its recyclability – nearly all components are made almost entirely of plastic, allowing for easy recycling.
